SLAWiSE – Sierra Leone Association of Women in Sciences was inaugurated during the 2nd Annual Science Education Workshop, May 2013. SLAWISE is a regional network for Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths and Medicine (STEM) in industry, enterprise and academia.

Sierra Leone Association of Women in Sciences (SLAWiSE) was inaugurated during the 2nd Annual Science Education Workshop, May 2013. SLAWISE is a regional network for Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math’s and Medicine (STEM) in industry, enterprise, and academia. It is a forum to both offer and be offered help. Furthermore, it is a supportive environment to talk about issues that can be difficult to raise in competitive scientific environments.

OBJECTIVE

The main objective of SLAWiSE is to:

To help organize the annual science workshop with the Science Resources Foundation.
To help build and preserve the participation of Women in Science, engineering and technology (SET) fields in both industry and academia by organizing capacity building/networking meetings and access to mentoring schemes as well as gathering and distributing information.
